School Hours
Throughout the year, we follow a full-day schedule. On special occasions, we'll follow a half-day schedule with normal arrival times and early dismissal times.
Arrival Times
Students can be dropped off beginning at 7:30 AM. A warning bell rings at 7:56 AM and the tardy bell rings at 8:00 AM, which is when the school day will begin. If a student arrives after the tardy bell, parents are required to check the student in at the front office.
Elementary Dismissal Times
Full Day - 3:00 PM*
Half Day - 11:15 AM**
Secondary Dismissal Times
Full Day - 3:10 PM*
Half Day - 11:35 AM**
*On a full-day schedule, students not enrolled in After Care must be picked up by 3:30 PM each day. Any student not picked up by 3:30 PM will be taken to After Care. Parents will be charged $20 per day per child.
**On a half-day schedule, students not enrolled in After Care must be picked up by 11:45 AM. Extended Care is not offered to students on half days unless they are enrolled in this program. Drop-ins are not accepted on half days due to the number of children enrolled.
Special Dismissal Procedures
Weather Problems
In case of severe weather conditions, which necessitates the closing of school and extended care during a school day, dismissal announcements will be sent to parents and announcements will be made on WCBI TV (Channel 4) and WTVA TV (Channel 9). These announcements will also be posted to social media and sent out through Ram Mail and CCA Parent Alert Text Messaging.
Emergencies
In the event of emergencies during the school day, such as environmental, fire, police, or medical emergencies, parents will be called directly by school personnel.
Holidays
We don't dismiss school for every national holiday. If there's a particular reason to have your child absent from school on one of these non-excused holidays, please arrange for this at least one week prior to the holiday.
